Fill Level Detection
Continuous volumetric fill measurement. Triggers an alert at a configurable fill threshold.
A global smart bin, built from abrasion-resistant steel made to our specification, batch-certified to grade and thickness, and BinEye Verified. Engineered to last three to five times longer than standard waste bins, and backed by a 10-year steel warranty carried by BinEye. A free NFC identity comes on every bin, so you always know where it is; fill and contamination sensing come through the BinEye module.
The Range
From compact 3 m³ site bins to 12 m³ civil and mine-site jobs. Same BinEye Verified steel, same factory, same BinEye module, different volumes for different jobs. Hook-lift is fitted to the larger sizes.
Built Better — the steel
Most bins are made from cheaper grade structural steel. Bin Eye Bins are not. We build with abrasion-resistant steel made to our specification, batch-certified to its grade and thickness, and BinEye Verified. These bins are assets, built to live and perform across a full service life, not thrown away. What kills a bin is being left out in the weather with water pooling in the bottom, especially near the coast, so we build the steel and the coating to outlast that. The steel is what we warrant: a 10-year steel warranty, carried by BinEye.
We build with abrasion-resistant steel made to our specification. Most bins are made from cheaper grade structural steel, built down to a price. These are simply better bins, built to be an asset that lasts.
Every batch of steel ships with its material inspection report for grade and thickness, and each bin is then BinEye Verified and given its own number and NFC identity. That identity stays with the bin for its whole life until it is retired, so every owner knows where the bin is and whether it is full or empty.
Continuous structural welds, reinforced corners, a stiffened floor pan, and a grit-blasted 2-pack epoxy coat. Built that way, the steel is engineered to outlast the standard waste bin by a wide margin, on a design target of three to five times the service life.
Built for a global market to one contract specification, not generic OEM stock from a catalogue. The electronics modules are designed and assembled in Australia. A premium bin that is still very well priced, because we build them to be owned, not replaced.
The tech
First we make the steel strong. Then we make the tech just as strong. Every Bin Eye Bin runs on a premium connectivity core, Build with Blues, so the data layer is built on proven silicon, not a retrofit dongle. Every item, every bin, every flag flows over local networks into whatever system you already run, through a free API.
The connectivity core is built on the Blues platform: proven, premium silicon and a managed connectivity path. Build with Blues means the data layer is not a commodity afterthought.
Solar-powered, sealed, and factory-fitted. On-device intelligence reads the bin and reports over cellular without driver input. The bin is online from the day it ships.
Every item, every bin, every flag flows into the bin-management software you already run, through a free API. You do not change systems to use a Bin Eye Bin.
Every bin is GPS located to within about two metres of where it sits. Movement is managed by whoever is responsible for it — the driver, the customer, or the site foreman.
Detection Capabilities
Six detection capabilities run on every collection cycle. All inference is on-device. Data transmits via cellular when needed, without driver input.
Continuous volumetric fill measurement. Triggers an alert at a configurable fill threshold.
Identifies glass, plastic, organic, and cardboard. Classification output per collection event, exportable via API.
Detects hazardous material, non-conforming waste, and recycling-stream contamination. Single-event alert, not a continuous alarm.
Bin lid angle and overflow material volume. Triggers escalated alert before lid fully open condition occurs.
PIR-triggered camera event on approach at odd hours. Timestamped image evidence logged to cloud. Geocoded.
Timestamped image evidence of bin state pre- and post-collection. Dispute resolution record, SLA compliance documentation.
BinEye Module
Every bin ships with its BinEye identity and location built in. The BinEye module adds the live sensing layer, fill and contamination and full data, and it can be retrofitted to any bin. We are not showing the module itself yet.
The Connected Bin
Three things make a Bin Eye Bin more than steel: a permanent identity, a working filter foot, and a per-bin record you can stand behind. Provisional patent filed — AU 2026905137, 29 May 2026.
Every bin carries a permanent BE serial laser-etched into the steel, the BinEye eagle head stamped beside it, and an on-metal NFC tag. Tap the NFC or read the serial and the bin resolves to the same place — it survives a flat battery, a module swap, even total power loss. The identity comes free on every bin, and the API into the bin-management software you already run is free.
Tap a phone to the bin to see it or act on it. On-metal NFC, no app required.
A permanent BE serial laser-etched into the steel. Human and machine readable. The backbone of the record.
The BinEye mark, stamped permanently into the steel. A mark of the build for the life of the bin — not a code, just the brand on every bin.
One bin, one identity, on one global network. Tap the NFC or read the serial and the bin resolves to its digital twin — bineye.ai/b/<serial>
Waste Filter Foot — provisional patent filed
The corner foot is structural. It carries the load and takes the punishment from forklifts and rough handling. It is also a filter housing. The liquid that collects in the bin drains by gravity through a replaceable cartridge tucked inside the steel skid — a first-stage particulate and hydrocarbon filter that captures sediment and oil sheen from the drained liquid.
Provisional patent AU 2026905137, filed 29 May 2026. Filtration performance figures to follow field validation.
A low-energy sensor in the foot watches the drained liquid for tell-tale signatures — oil sheen, acidity, sediment load. The top-rail BinEye module relays it over cellular, tagged to the bin's identity.
A running record of what each bin handled — by serial, over time.
Oil sheen or a pH excursion is flagged as an event when it happens — not a constant alarm.
The sensor flags when a cartridge is loading up, so a change is scheduled before it is needed.
Connectivity by Blues. The foot sensor is evidence of what enters the bin — a record, not a clearance.
The Platform
Data flows upward, from the sensor at the bin edge (L1) to the fleet manager's dashboard (L5). Each layer is independently accessible via a free API.
The BinEye platform is an API-first data infrastructure. Every sensor event is a structured JSON record — queryable, exportable, and integratable with existing waste management systems, council portals, and route planning software.
Access layer: REST and webhook. Authentication: API key per fleet. Rate limit: 10,000 events per day on standard tier.

Above every farm, every field, every waste site, an eagle watches. It sees what's below before the ground knows it's been seen. We named the bin for that posture. One set of eyes on every bin. Nothing missed. Nothing wasted.
